  21. This ResEdit file contains all the resources to add color, system 7 "3-D"
  22. icons to the Config Mac PPP cdev.

  27. This ResEdit file contains all the resources to add color, system 7 "3-D"
  28. icons to the Mac PPP extension.

  33. This ResEdit file contains all the resources to add a slightly smaller,
  34. centered, connection dialog (with a color icon in it) to MacPPP.

  37. Colour Smilies Folder

  40. This folder contains all the files needed to add a color "smiley" icon to
  41. the upper left of the Config PPP dialog box.  This was inspired by John
  42. Cundall in England. He emailed me with the fixes and they sat in my inbox
  43. for quite a long time (I didn't have a color screen then).

  47. This ResEdit file contains John's set of colorized "smiley" icons.

  51. This ResEdit file contains my set of "hands" icons that I think look
  52. better :).

  56. To make Config PPP "see" these icons you have to modify the 'cdev' resource
  57. in the Config PPP file.  NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE SQUEAMISH!  This file
  58. details the hex addresses to be modified.

  60. Color Icon cdev
  61. ---------------
  62. This file is for the squeamish.  It's a 'cdev' resource for Config PPP
  63. that's already been modified to "see" the color "smiley" icons.

  68. These are simple ResEdit hacks I (and others) did in a night to spruce up
  69. MacPPP.  They are simple and not in any way, shape or form guaranteed not
  70. to bomb the hell out of your Mac.  USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  75. Heh heh heh.  If I need to tell you how to use ResEdit to patch Macintosh
  76. files then you probably shouldn't be doing it.  However, here are some
  77. pointers:
  78.     •Make a backup first!
  79.     •Before you do anything make a backup.
  80.     •Backups are a good way to begin ResEditing something.
  81.     •Make sure that there is a copy (a backup) of the file you are working on.
  82.     and above all else...
  83.     •Have a backup handy.
